Review(1): Keep Holding On by Susanne Colasanti

Title: Keep Holding On
Author: Susanne Colsanti
Published: May 31, 2012
Source: Library Book
Rate: 4.5 out of 5
Overview:Noelle’s life is all about survival. Even her best friend doesn’t know how much she gets bullied, or the ways her mom neglects her. Noelle’s kept so much about her life a secret for so long that when her longtime crush Julian Porter starts paying attention to her, she’s terrified. Surely it’s safer to stay hidden than to risk the pain of a broken heart. But when the bullying of her classmate takes a dramatic turn, Noelle realizes it’s time to stand up for herself – and for the love that keeps her holding on.
Review: Overall, this book really held my attention (I finished it in 2 days).  I love Julian Porter.  He is the most adorable thing ever.  He cares for this girl that everyone picks on and doesn’t even give it a second thought.  He doesn’t let people sway him away from Noelle.  Noelle is a very sympathetic character.  It is told from her point of view so a reader can very easily picture themselves in Noelle’s situation.  This book is very sad but at the same time it is uplifting when you come to meet Julian.  Some of these events were inspired by Susanne Colasnti’s own personal experiences.
